Method For Establishing A Cynomolgus Monkey Model Of Hypertriglyceridemia And Its Application

Hyperlipidemia is a disease characterized by higher than normal levels of one or more lipids in plasma due to abnormal lipid metabolism or transport. It has a high clinical incidence and can be divided into hypercholesterolemia (TC), hypertriglyceridemia (TG), and mixed hyperlipidemia (i.e., both high TG and high TC). Hypertriglyceridemia is a heterogeneous disorder of triglyceride protein synthesis or degradation. It is one of the most common lipid abnormalities in clinical practice, especially in patients with metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes. The consequence of high triglycerides is that it can easily cause "blood viscosity", that is, the high lipid content in the blood causes the blood to be viscous, depositing on the vascular wall, gradually forming small plaques, that is, atherosclerosis (AS), and then forming local ischemia or thrombosis. The consequences of high triglycerides are very serious for human damage, no matter where they occur. If it occurs in the heart, it can cause coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction; in the brain, it can cause stroke; in the fundus, it can cause vision loss, blindness; in the kidney, it can cause renal failure; in the lower limbs, it can cause limb ischemia and necrosis.

The main method currently used to establish a model of hyperlipidemia is long-term simple high-fat diet feeding. However this method does not conform to the real pathogenesis of hypertriglyceridemia does not simulate the chronic onset process of hypertriglyceridemia and none of the model animals show TG elevation symptoms.

PRISYS Hyperlipidemia cynomolgus monkey model

Prisys Biotechnology has established a method for establishing a cynomolgus monkey model of hypertriglyceridemia by alternately feeding a special feed at fixed times obtaining a more human-like hypertriglyceridemia model for the study of hyperlipidemia pathogenesis and hypertriglyceridemia treatment drug screening. The main advantages of the cynomolgus monkey model of hypertriglyceridemia established by Prisys Biotechnology are:

1. The model is a cynomolgus monkey model. Cynomolgus monkeys have a high homology with humans in genetic background and physiological structure can spontaneously develop hyperlipidemia and have symptoms highly similar to human symptoms.

2. The special feed used has a low fat and cholesterol addition avoiding the serious defects of high-fat feeding.

3. The special feed feeding replaces the traditional high-fat feeding avoiding the defects of high-fat feed being greasy and poor palatability easy to mold and deteriorate in long-term experiments and easy to cause animal diarrhea and prolapse.

Prisys Biotechnology adheres to the core value of "serving medical innovation and committed to life health" and has successfully built non-human primate experimental animal disease model research drug toxicity and safety evaluation pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics molecular imaging detection bioanalysis and biostatistics as core businesses.
