Type I / II Diabetes

Background: Diabetes is a multifaceted and multi-factorial disease whereby the body is unable to secrete adequate amounts of, or sensitively response to, the biologically active insulin for maintenance of euglycemia. It is classified into type I diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Model: Streptozotocin (STZ) induced T1DM/T2DM

Standard study duration: 12-24 weeks.

Clinical endpoint: BMI, glucose level, insulin levels, C-peptide release, glucose tolerance, liver function index, histopathology…

Features: Same human clinical symptoms and metabolic tests, two models available (T1DM/T2DM),
