Delayed-Type Hypersensitivity (DTH)
Background: DTH
is the type of hypersensitivity exemplified by such as the tuberculin reaction,
which (as opposed to immediate hypersensitivity) takes 12 to 48 hours to
develop following a challenge. DTH can be transferred by lymphocytes but not by
serum.
Model: Tetanus toxin induced delayed-type
hypersensitivity (DTH)
Standard study duration: 10 weeks.
Clinical endpoint: Skin induration, Biopsy, IHC….
